Estimates based on a 28-day season and community-reported 1.0 values. Regrowing crops assume a harvest every 3 days after first yield. Patch changes may shift prices — treat this as a planning baseline.

How the calculator works

Every crop in Starsand Island is defined by four numbers: seed cost, sell price, growth days, and whether the plant regrows after its first harvest. The calculator turns those into the two numbers that actually decide what to plant — total season profit and gold per day — assuming a standard 28-day season.

For single-harvest crops, the calculator fits as many full plant-harvest cycles into the season as the growth time allows and multiplies by the per-cycle margin. For regrowing crops, it charges the seed cost once and counts a harvest every three days after the first yield — which is why regrow crops like tomatoes and grapes top the gold-per-day ranking even though each individual harvest sells for less than a pumpkin.

How to read the results

Gold per day is the fairest comparison between crops, because it prices in the time your field sits occupied. Season profit tells you what one tile is worth across the whole season — multiply it by your actual field size to plan a seed budget. And watch the “regrows” marker: regrow crops need watering for the whole season, so their real cost includes your daily labor, not just gold.

Two practical rules the table makes obvious. First, plant long-growth jackpot crops (watermelon, pineapple, pumpkin) on day one or two of a season, or their second cycle will not finish before the season flips and withers the field. Second, never let the ranking override your watering capacity — forty plots of the best-ranked crop earn nothing if your morning only covers twenty.

Values are community-reported estimates for the 1.0 release and can shift with balance patches; the calculator is a planning baseline, not a promise. For what to do with the profits, the building upgrade order shows which projects to fund first.
